Curious what I could do with a Cicada-laden voice recording…so I took my trusty Zoom recorder out in the back yard. Using the built-in mics, with the Cicadas peaking at almost 96 dB, I recorded myself, then loaded it into ProTools and did some post production “magic”. The before and after audio files are below. Sibilances are not great, but overall pretty amazing! Conclusion: I do not recommend recording your podcast outside with the Cicadas. But if you unexpectedly find yourself in that situation, I might be able to help. 😀
